She’s so good you wonder why it’s taken so long for her to get her first starring role after years of stealing almost every movie she’s been in, from “Whip It” to “Knocked Up,” whose director, Judd Apatow, serves here as executive producer. ![]() But what sells it is Wiig’s outstanding display of comedy prowess, whether it’s delivering a lacerating one-liner or physical slapstick that would convince even the great Lucille Ball that lady’s got game. You’re glad she did, too, because this is sure to be one of the funniest movies of the summer, full of poop and vinegar, as Wiig and her writing partner, Annie Mumolo, prove that the gals can do “Hangover”-type humor every bit as well as the guys. And Wiig has no one to blame but herself. ![]() If you thought Pippa Middleton’s curvaceous can steer attention away from Wills and Kate, wait until you see what Kristen Wiig does to upstage the betrothed couple in “Bridesmaids.” She proves a terror de force as the well-intended maid of honor whose hilarious antics spark a bridal disaster at nearly every scatologically twisted turn. ![]()
